2017 GKN Negotiation Committee

IAM District 78 Directing Business Representative, Derek Ferguson reports that IAM Local 1975 members employed at GKN Sinter Metals in St. Thomas ratified a new three year agreement last week in both the Hourly and Salary Bargaining Units. In addition to annual wage increases, improvements were made in benefits, pension, and job posting language. This was a tough round of bargaining but the committees had a clear mandate from their members of what was needed to secure a new agreement, and they remained firm throughout the process.

IAM members employed at GKN produce metal powder precision components for the automotive industry.
